VICKERS SOLENOID VALVES - SOLENOID VALVES
Vickers solenoid valves - Pressure regulating valve
Vickers Solenoid Valves
- (Solenoid valve) A solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve for use with liquid or gas. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a solenoid coil.
- (Solenoid Valve) A quick-opening valve which is mounted on a pressurized tank. The opening of the valve generates a cleaning pulse which dislodges the dust from the filter elements.
- (solenoid valve) An electrical device operated by a magnetic coil to make the valve either open for flow or closed to shut off water flow.
- (Vickers S) The Vickers Class "S" was a 40 mm (1.57 in) cannon used to arm British aircraft for attacking ground targets in the Second World War.
- Vickers was a famous name in British engineering that existed through many companies from 1828 until 1999.

The last Vickers Vangard.
G-APEP (CN 719) This is the only surviving Vickers Vanguard in the world. Originally delivered new to BEA in 1961 as a passenger airliner, she was converted to ‘Merchantman’ (cargo) specification in 1971. Finally retired from service in 1996, the aircraft was flown to her birthplace at Brooklands for public display. The photo shows the aircraft just a year later in the Spring of 1997.
In 2004 the aircraft had to be moved to another location on the Brooklands site because Mercedes-Benz built an office block right on top the historic Brooklands runway, where she is seen in this picture.
